Michigan vs. TCU Score: Live updates, College Football Playoff scores, Fiesta Bowl 2022 coverage

The College Football Playoff semifinals in the Fiesta Bowl have become a modern epic, and the final result may top 13 of the 16 previous semifinals that were decided by double digits, but it doesn’t come without excitement. As we head into the fourth quarter, the no. 3 TCU is still No. 2 lead Michigan, but now has a 41-30 margin following a 44-point third frame.

A lot went well for Michigan as it tried to cut into a 15-point halftime deficit. The Wolverines intercepted Max Duggan for the second time and found the end zone early in the quarter to add two more touchdowns to the same streak. But at every turn came answers from TCU, including Michigan’s first score midway through the third quarter followed by back-to-back haymakers on a rushing touchdown drive, followed by J.J. McCarthy provided his own answer with a long touchdown run, but that too was answered with another quick score by TCU.

After scoring just 27 combined points in the first half, Michigan scored 44 points in the third quarter alone to outscore TCU 24-20 and cut its deficit to 11 points. If the Horned Frogs can hold on, it could be a huge upset in the CFP; If the Wolverines find a way to win, it would be the biggest comeback in CFP history. Either way, it’s going to be an eventful fourth quarter.
