Netflix announced Tuesday that it will begin sending emails to members who share their account information outside of their homes in the United States.
“One Netflix account is for one family use,” the streaming company said Blog.
Account members who subscribe to Standard or Premium plans, which cost between $15.50 and $20 per month, will be allowed to share their password for an additional $7.99 per month, the company said.
In April, Netflix Said During that First quarter Revenue says it will stop sharing passwords in the US and other countries by the end of the second quarter in June.

The company said families can still enjoy entertainment “at home, on the go and[on]vacation” with features such as profile switching and access and device management.
“We recognize that our members have many entertainment choices, and that’s why we continue to invest heavily in a wide variety of new movies and TV shows,” said part of the statement in the blog post.
The streaming giant first announced a crackdown on password sharing last year after the company reported a drop in subscribers for the first time in more than a decade amid increased competition.
“This is an important change for us, so we’re working hard to make sure we’re doing it as well and as thoughtfully as we can,” Netflix CEO Gregory Peters said during an April earnings call.
