Oscar-winning actor Robert De Niro’s grandson Leandro De Niro Rodriguez has died, his mother announced on social media.
He is 19 years old.
Actress Traina De Niro, daughter of Robert De Niro, wrote about the loss of her son in a post on Instagram. Sunday.
“You were my joy, my heart and all that was ever pure and true in my life,” read a passage. “I don’t know how to live without you, but I will try to spread the love and light that you have caused me to be your mom. You are loved and appreciated so deeply, I wish only love could have saved you.
She tagged her son’s father, artist Carlos Rodriguez, who goes by Carlos Mare.
“Rest in peace and eternal heaven my dear boy,” she wrote.
“Words are not enough to express the joy he brought us or the loss we now experience with our families and friends,” Mere responded in a comment on the post. “He is now a child of God.”
No cause of death has been shared.
“It is with immeasurable shock and sadness that we say goodbye to our beloved son Leo,” Traina De Niro said in a statement on Monday. “We thank you for the outpouring of love and support and ask that we be granted privacy during this time to process this inconsolable grief.”

Leandro De Niro Rodriguez is also an actor. She appeared with her mother in the 2018 film “A Star Is Born” starring Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga. His other acting credits include “The Collection” in 2005 and Cabaret Maxim in 2018. According to IMdB.
