Officials at Prisma Heath said they will begin restricting patient visits to children under the age of 16 from Wednesday, December 27. “We do this to protect our patients, their loved ones and our own team members against the spread of seasonal flu and other respiratory illnesses,” said Prisma Health Infectious Disease Specialist Dr. Sangeeta Dash. “Some exceptions may be allowed at the discretion of the hospital administration.” According to Prisma Health, it will continue to monitor the situation and adjust attendance to keep patients, loved ones and team members safe. A mask is recommended to help, but not required. To avoid the spread of respiratory disease, Prisma health officials said.
