Well, that didn't take long.
With – what else? – Logo 3 just 132 seconds into Thursday's game against Michigan. Caitlin Clark, the senior from Iowa passed former Washington All-American Kelsey Plum for first place in the NCAA scoring record books. And the game isn't over yet.
What's next for Clark?
At the end of Iowa's regular season, he is on pace to surpass Pete Maravich's record of 3,667 points scored while playing at LSU in 1967-70. But the record that matters most to women's basketball historians and junkies is 3,649. How many points did Lynette Woodard of Wichita score while playing at Kansas from 1977-81. Before the NCAA hosted women's college sports Woodard's record is in the AIWA record books Instead of NCAA record books.
Clarke will outdo Woodard and Maravich, silencing those who complain that Clarke's record isn't legit. And given how many games he has left this season, Clarke will set a scoring mark so high that no one will ever approach it.

Caitlin Clarke's entry comes naturally to Logo 3
Of course Caitlin Clark broke the record with LOGO 3.
Clark's second 3-pointer of the game with 7:43 left in the first quarter sent Carver-Hawkeye Arena into a frenzy. Her mom put her hands on her head and her dad and brothers clapped and exchanged high fives.
The game wasn't stopped immediately — Clarke said earlier this week that he believed it was “no time for us to waste.” But after Michigan missed a shot on the other end, Iowa coach Lisa Bluder called a timeout so the crowd could recognize Clark's milestone. She beamed as she was hugged and congratulated by her teammates, who buried her head in Bluder's shoulder.
“With 3,528 points in her career, she has officially surpassed Kelsey Blum's record,” the public address announcer said, sending the arena into a frenzy again. “One more time Katelyn Clarke, let's ask number 22!”
Clarke said earlier this week that she was not nervous but excited about being approached for the record.
“Just go out there and enjoy playing basketball, it's coming along,” she said. “I understand the extent of it, but it comes down to how my four years have gone.”

At least the NFL gave us a dry run on how to find tonight's game!
NBC peacocked the wild-card game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Miami Dolphins last month, drawing no shortage of outrage from NFL fans. But NBC is trying to drive consumers to its streaming platform, especially ahead of this summer's Paris Olympics, when there will be a lot of coverage on the Peacock, and it needs some big games to entice them.
It didn't get any bigger than when Kaitlyn Clark broke Kelsey Blum's all-time NCAA women's scoring record.
