Chelsea confirm line-up against Liverpool | News | Official site

Enzo Maresca has made three changes to Chelsea’s starting line-up for today’s trip to Premier League leaders Liverpool.

The Blues travel to Anfield with Mark Gugurella and Wesley Fobana both suspended after picking up their fifth yellow cards of the season against Nottingham Forest.

Reece James is one of the arrivals. Our club captain has avoided injury in the pre-season for the 2024/25 campaign, but lines up at right-back, with Malo Gusto expected to switch to the left.

Dosin Atarabioyo is the other forced change for Fofana, and there is a change in midfield as Romeo Lavia joins Enzo Fernandez in the center of midfield with Moises Caicedo.

That means Robert Sanchez is in goal and will be protected by a back four of James, Dosin Atarabio, Levi Colville and Gusteau.

Caicedo and Lavia are in midfield with Jadon Sancho on the left, Noni Maduke on the right and Cole Palmer behind Nicholas Jackson as a striker.

Marcus Pettinelli is one of the replacements for Filip Jorgensen, who was injured on international duty with Denmark under-21s, and a talented Chelsea bench includes Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Enzo, Pedro Neto, Joao Felix and Christopher Ngungu.

Chelsea Starting XI: Sanchez; James (c), Dossin, Colville, Gusto; Caicedo, Lavia; Madueke, Palmer, Sancho; Jackson

Chelsea substitutes: Pettinelli, Shots, Badiashil, Vega, Enzo, Dewsbury-Hall, Neto, Joao Felix, Scull

Liverpool starting XI: Kelleher, Alexander-Arnold, Konade, Van Dijk, Robertson, Szoboslai, Jones, Gravenberch, Salah, Jota, Kakpo
