Ron Cephas Jones is an Emmy Award-winning actor for his role as William Hill. This is us, is dead. He is 66 years old.
A representative for the actor confirmed the news of his death to Deadline.
“Beloved and award-winning actor Ron Cephas Jones has passed away at the age of 66 due to chronic lung problems,” shared a statement from the actor’s rep. People. “Throughout his career, his warmth, beauty, generosity, kindness and heart were felt by anyone who was fortunate enough to know him.”
The statement continued, “He began his career at the New Yorkan Poets Café, and his love of the stage has carried him throughout his career, including his recent Tony nomination and Drama Desk Award win for his role in Clydes on Broadway.”
Jones played the role of William Hill This is us, Sterling K. Biological father of Randall Pearson of Brown. Jones received two Emmys for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series, one in 2018 and his second in 2020.
His television credits include: Law and order, New York Undercover, NYPD blue, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Blacklist, Banshee, Mr. Robot, Get down And Luke Cage. More recently, so was Jones To tell the truth and had a series of roles Law & Order: Organized Crime And Great stuff.
