Los Angeles – Singer and actress Miley Cyrus has been sued for copyright infringement His hit song “Flowers,” He recently won a Grammy Award for it.
Tempo Music Investments filed a complaint in California federal court against Cyrus and several other individuals, businesses and entities.
In that complaint, Tempo alleged that Cyrus’ song was too close “When I Was Your Man” by Bruno Mars It was published in 2013. Tempo owns a share of the copyright to Mars’ song.
“Immediately after the release of ‘Flowers,’ the public noticed a striking similarity between the song and ‘When I Was Your Man,'” the complaint states.

Michael Pollock, one of the co-authors of “Flowers,” denied the allegations in a March 2023 interview with Billboard, according to court documents.
“Cyrus’ song copies many of the melodic, harmonic and lyrical elements of ‘When I Was Your Man,’ including the melodic pitch design and verse sequence,” the lawsuit states.

Tempo provided the court with examples of sheet music from both songs as evidence of their similarity.
The company also released the lyrics of both songs to support their claim that the two songs were written the same way.
Tempo demands an unspecified amount.
